Last week between 3 and 7 July, two meetings took place in the framework of the Erasmus + cooperation partnership project “Innovative education for students of medical and health sciences, resulting to better adapt the didactic offer to the health needs of pregnant and post-pregnant women – INSTEpp Project“. A first transnational meeting was held on 4 and 5 July. On the other hand, on 6 and 7 July, the final closing event of the project took place, with an international conference where the main results of the INSTEpp project were presented.
In this first meeting with the representatives of the University of Opole (Poland) and the University of Klaipeda (Lithuania), the main objective was the follow-up, status and evolution of the last dissemination phase of the project, together with the control of the implementation of the contents of the project, on the academic programmes in the degree of physiotherapy of the three universities involved.
The project is scheduled to end on 31 August this year. Therefore, the status of implementation of all project activities and other management issues for the preparation and preparation of the final report was reviewed. The team of the University of Cadiz, for this meeting, arrived with a clear objective, which was to develop a series of audiovisual content, which will relate appropriate exercises to develop during pregnancy and postpartum. A total of 43 videos have been developed for this project, which are available for viewing on the Youtube channel of the International Relations Office of the University of Cadiz.
On the other hand, and on the 6th and 7th, an international conference was held to present the main results of the project to the scientific and academic community and the clinical world in general. This event took place in the main auditorium of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Opole, where mainly academics from different universities in Poland met, as well as physiotherapists and midwives from the health care sector, to learn about the main results of the project. This international conference was held over two days, the first day being focused on the dissemination of the theoretical contents, where the UCA team formed by professors belonging to the area of Physiotherapy of the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the Campus of Cadiz, the professors Ms. Verónica Pérez Cabezas and Ms. Verónica Pérez Cabezas, and the second day, Ms. Verónica Pérez Cabezas and Ms. Verónica Pérez Cabezas, from the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy of the Campus of Cadiz, were present. Verónica Pérez Cabezas and Ms. Gloria González Medina, had the opportunity to give two guest lectures, where they explained the work carried out by the UCA team on the available scientific evidence relating the benefits of physical activity during pregnancy and in the postpartum period. On the second day, practical contents were offered to the attendees, and in this sense, Prof. Alejandro Galán Mercant, offered a practical workshop to 40 attendees (Physiotherapists and Midwives), where he explained in detail the aspects when developing, programming and prescribing general physical exercise during pregnancy, along with a specific exercise programme for the pelvic floor muscles. The practical workshop lasted a total of 45 minutes and the main language was English, with simultaneous translation into Polish.
The INSTEpp project is scheduled to end on 31 August this year. Therefore, avenues were explored for further collaboration between the UCA and these universities on new proposals. This working coalition continues to bear fruit, and the door has been opened for the implementation of a new project for the period 2023-2025, which will focus on the development framework of respiratory conditions.
