Both universities are working on student mobility projects.

The acting vice-rector for Internationalisation of the University of Cadiz, Rafael Jiménez Castañeda, received the coordinator of the International Exchange Programme of the University of Osaka Gakuin (Japan), Ms. Midori Hatanaka, at the Hospital Real building on the Cadiz Campus last 17th of November.

This visit is part of the Internationalisation strategy in Asia undertaken by the University of Cadiz. Specifically, in May, a delegation from the UCA, headed by its rector, Francisco Piniella, visited this Japanese academic institution for the first time.

Ms. Midori Hatanaka and Rafael Jiménez Castañeda were accompanied by the acting directors of the Internationalisation Office, Michel Remi, and the International Cooperation Office, Germán Jiménez. Afterwards, he toured the Cadiz Campus to see its various buildings and facilities, including the Colegio Mayor and the UCA Welcome Centre. He also visited the faculties of Economics and Business Studies and Philosophy and Letters, where he held meetings with the respective deans; Pedro Araujo and Arturo Morgado.

Among the main objectives of the visit was the promotion of mobility between the two universities. A great impetus has been given to finalize the collaboration agreements; both the general protocol and the student exchange agreement. Osaka Gakuin University is very interested in facilitating student academic stays between the two universities, as its representative indicated after this visit.

The main areas of shared interest are those related to Economics and Business Administration and the teaching of modern languages, as well as Spanish courses (Spanish Programme Academic Course ECA) and the International Volunteering programme. The latter in particular, as the policy of social responsibility is very important for both universities.
