The third meeting of the Erasmus+ project AIRES (Artificial Intelligence for Renewable Energy Systems), whose main objective is to create a Erasmus Mundus Joint Master related to the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in the field of renewable energies, was held at the University of Cadiz on May 22, 23 and 24.

The teams of the participating Universities are working since last September 2022 to submit a proposal for a Joint Master in the next call for Erasmus+ projects in 2024. The working agenda of the meeting focused on the consolidation of the training program of the future joint Master, as well as on the institutional agreements between the partners to detail the management of the future Master.

The opening ceremony, held in the Salón de Grados of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, was chaired by Professor Néstor Mora, Director of Mobility of the Internationalization Office of the UCA. In addition to the members of the University of Cadiz team, the meetings were attended by professors from the coordinating University of the project (Sousse, Tunisia), and from the European Universities of L’Aquila (Italy), León (Spain) and Trnava (Slovakia).

The UCA team is led by Professor Sara Balderas, from the Department of Computer Engineering and the Area of Computer Languages and Systems. In addition, professors Gabriel Guerrero, Inmaculada Medina, Francisco Palomo and Andrés Muñoz participated in the meetings.

The next consortium meeting will take place in the Italian city of L’Aquila at the end of July.
