On December 12th, the introductory course on Capacity Building will take place. This course is a training activity scheduled by the Training and Teaching Innovation Unit and will count for such purpose.
Capacity Building projects in the field of Higher Education are transnational cooperation projects mainly based on multilateral partnerships between Higher Education institutions from Erasmus+ program countries and eligible partner countries. They can also include non-academic partners to strengthen ties with society and businesses, and to enhance the systemic impact of the projects.
The main objective is to familiarize teaching staff with this type of projects, enabling them to acquire the basic knowledge necessary to properly engage as partners in a proposal and project of this kind.
The CALESA project aims to address a systemic flaw in Philippine legal education: the lack of programs in law faculties oriented towards developing academic expertise and generating research. This creates a knowledge deficit that prevents the legal profession from more effectively combining law and politics to address some of the most urgent needs of Filipino society, such as the protection of human rights and the rule of law, legal modernization, and regional integration.
