An event aimed at digital freelancers in Communication
The Multiplier Difree event has brought a close to the Entrepreneurship Week at the UCA, held at the Constitution 1812 building on the Cádiz Campus. Over 40 activities were organized across the four campuses and towns in the province. This is a European initiative to promote the work of digital freelancers (freelancers).
José Sánchez, Acting Director General of Entrepreneurship, Business, and Alumni at the University of Cádiz, explained that the main goal of this project is to complete the training of those students in their final years or recent graduates who will dedicate themselves to this profession in the future.
Difree involves the collaboration of several international universities such as the Italian universities: della Tuscia and Centro Studi e Ricerche dei Laghi, Panteio Panepistimio Koinonikon Kai Politikon Epistimon, from Athens; and the Instituto Politecnico do Porto, Portugal; and, of course, the University of Cádiz.
Digital freelancers, in addition to being entrepreneurial individuals working independently in this sector, are also constantly on the move, promoting services through online platforms. As a European Union project, a main priority is digital skills, as “political initiatives related to this field aim to refine them. With the intention of identifying these competencies, the EU has developed reference frameworks for entrepreneurial skills and digital competencies,” according to the UCA official.
The Digital Competence Framework for Citizens, also known as DigComp, seeks to improve digital skills by establishing 21 competencies grouped into five areas and eight levels of proficiency. And the Entrepreneurial Competence Framework, EntreComp, aims to help citizens understand what entrepreneurship is through 15 entrepreneurial competencies divided into three areas, five competencies, and eight levels. Like DigComp, EntreComp also operates in any sector and system so that people can develop their skills, both individually and in groups, in any aspect of their daily lives.
As a guest speaker, communication professional Idamor Fernández focused his intervention on digital nomads and what it means to work remotely.
Finally, a self-assessment tool for competencies was presented, which will be launched at the beginning of next year 2024 and will be available free of charge to anyone interested.
