General Description:

The aim of this Jean Monnet Chair is to offer an approach to the process of European integration. To this end, the project will focus especially on the security dimension in the Western Mediterranean, taking the phenomenon of immigration as a study model. It is a project designed for the entire university community interested in starting their research training in this field, taking advantage of its geostrategic location.

Objetives

The specific objectives are:

  • To allow a greater understanding of the current migratory reality on Europe’s southern border and everything related to security, it is a first approach to the European integration process and its security aspects. This should allow for a greater understanding of this reality, as well as allowing for knowledge of the existence of appropriate instruments and mechanisms of the European Union’s migration policies.
  • To allow young researchers and teachers from all over the world, thanks to the non-attendance component, to have the possibility of a first quality approach to European studies and thus to provoke a multidisciplinary development of these studies.
