General Description:

The 3-year project for the “Development of a Regional Joint Master Program in Maritime Environmental Protection and Management (MEP & M)”, seeks the creation of a joint regional master’s program between Albania and Montenegro (in English and in online format), with the support of higher education institutions of the European Union.

Partners  Montenegro: the University of Montenegro, through the Faculty of Maritime Studies and the Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor, the Agency for Nature and Environment Protection and the NGO Eco Center DOLPHIN.

 Albania: the Aleksander Moisiu University of Durres and the ‘Ismail Qemali’ University of  Vlore, together with the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs.

 European Partners: the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia); the Université Côte d’Azur (France), the University of Cadiz (Spain)

Objetives
  • To develop regional joint interdisciplinary MSc program (120 ECTS, 2-year duration) in English and online.
  • To increase competences and skills of human resources in Montenegro and Albania (partner countries) in field of Maritime Environmental Protection and Management (MEP&M).
  • To strengthen competitiveness of the Higher Education Institutions of the partner countries in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA).
  • To enhance networking among Higher Education Institutions of the partner countries, with the Governmental institutions, Blue economy sector enterprises and NGOs aiming to act regionally in order to prevent and cope with consequences of global climate change and local/regional marine pollution.
  • The main aim is to create professionals able to formulate effective responses to complex practice and policy issues, to substantially reduce present negative impacts on South Adriatic and North Ionian coastal and marine environments.
