A delegation from this Taiwanese university has visited and learnt about the infrastructures and the potential of the UCA in the health field.
The University of Cadiz will promote a line of academic and scientific collaboration with the National Taiwan University of Nursing and Health Sciences of Taipei -NTUNHS- (Taiwan). This has been the main result of the recent visit of a delegation from this Taiwanese university to various UCA facilities and centres, including the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy, in order to get to know its infrastructures and the teaching and research potential in the field of Health Sciences.
Among the various actions planned on the agenda, coordinated by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation of the UCA, the meeting between the acting rector of the University of Cadiz, Francisco Piniella, and the president of the National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences, Professor Shu-Fag Vivienne Wu A meeting in which the different lines of action for future collaborations between both university institutions were discussed and which was attended by the dean of the Office of Research and Development and the director of the NTUHNS Centre for International Education, Associate Professor Yu-Ying Lu and Ms. Li-Ju Lin, respectively, together with the vice-rector of Internationalisation of the UCA, Rafael Jiménez Castañeda, the director of the UCA Internationalisation Office, Michel Remi, and the director of the Secretariat of International Projects and Networks, Javier Izquierdo.
Afterwards, the delegation visited the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy where they met Professor José Aparicio Patino, Vice-Dean of Students and Institutional Relations of the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy, tenured lecturer Cristina Gavira Fernández, Vice-Dean of Students and International Relations of the Faculty of Nursing of Algeciras. In this meeting, they discussed, among other issues, the possibilities of collaboration between the two faculties in student exchange, underlining the interest in mentoring programs for internships that are being carried out by the Taiwanese university. They also highlighted the interest in organising virtual online classes so that professors and students can share their experience and knowledge in their respective fields. This initiative is in line with UCA’s commitment to promote lifelong learning and international collaboration.
The General Protocol agreement recently signed by both universities will facilitate the channelling of all these initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to work together and laying the foundations for future collaborations.
