Last Thursday 19 June 2025, the University of Cadiz (UCA) had the honour of receiving a group of 25 PhD students in Law from Florida International University (FIU) in the United States, accompanied by Professor Manuel Gómez. The visit is part of an initiative of academic internationalisation and strengthening of cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting took place in the Olivillo Building, headquarters of the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation. Representing the UCA were the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Marcela Iglesias, Professor Eva Valdivia, the Director General for Language Policy, Leonor Acosta, and the Director General for Employment, Carmen Ferradans.
During the session, an overview of the University of Cadiz was presented, with special emphasis on its educational offer and law studies. In addition, the work of the Centro Superior de Lenguas Modernas was presented, as well as the opportunities offered by the SEA-EU European University Alliance, of which the UCA is a member.
This meeting allowed the UCA and the FIU to identify various avenues of collaboration, which could lead to future joint initiatives in the fields of training, mobility and international projects.
The visit reinforces the UCA’s commitment to international projection and the creation of academic cooperation networks at a global level.
