Instrucions for the online application for Staff mobility for Teaching at the University of Cádiz EN

The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching programme offers the teaching staff members of partner universities of third countries the opportunity of staying at the University of Cadiz for teaching purposes during 5 working days.
The teaching staff members accepted in this mobility programme will receive a grant and will teach at least 8 hours at the University of Cadiz. They will also have the opportunity to meet their colleagues from UCA to discuss issues related to collaboration between universities, exchange opinions, and use all the facilities available at UCA with no additional fees (excluding any minor fees also applicable to the students, teaching and administration staff members of the UCA). All teaching activities approved in the Mobility Agreement and successfully completed will be fully recognised at the home university.
The Erasmus+ programme promotes the exchange of experiences about the utilisation of teaching methods and it will allow students that do not have the opportunity to take part in Erasmus+ mobility to benefit from the knowledge of foreign higher education institutions’ teaching staff members. The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching offers the teaching staff members the opportunity for increasing their cultural experience abroad, knowing different Higher Education systems and networking with colleagues from other countries, thus contributing to the international integration process
The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching grant does not cover all the costs of the stay, but it is only a contribution to bear any additional expenses that may arise during the stay abroad.
Hired teaching staff of one of the UCA’s partner universities during the current project that are selected and nominated by their home university are eligible participants for this programme.
This call is meant for visiting the UCA during 5 working days (minimum and maximum) during a non-holiday period. The details of the stay will be specified in each call.
The partner university is fully in charge of carrying out the selection process. The University of Cadiz will respect this decision and will accept the teaching staff members proposed by the partner university, provided that the establishment where the stay will take place accepts the Mobility Agreement.
The registration must be done at the home university. It is the home institution who will nominate the eligible teaching staff members according to the criteria defined in the call and who, afterwards, will forward the personal details of the nominated staff members to the UCA.
Then, the University of Cadiz will forward an email to the nominated teaching staff member with all the necessary information and a link to an online form in order to carry out the registration. The UCA will draw up and send an invitation letter as well as the Mobility Agreement signed by the centre coordinator to the admitted teaching staff members in order to facilitate the visa proceedings. The teachers must apply for this visa in the corresponding Spanish consulate.
The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Teaching grant does not cover all the costs of the stay, but it is only a contribution to bear any additional expenses that may arise during the stay abroad.
The grants include:
  • A European Union contribution (individual support). This contribution is an amount established according to the country of destination and the actual number of days spent abroad in the host university. In Spain, the monthly economic contribution is €120 per day. The financed period is 5 days of stay and 2 more days of travel (one day to travel to Cadiz and another one to return to home country). In total, there are 7 fundable days (€840).
  • An additional contribution to cover travel expenses (travel contribution). This travel contribution is calculated according to de following distance bands:
100 – 499 km: 180 Euros
500 – 1999 km: 275 Euros
2000 – 2999 km: 360 Euros
3000 – 3999 km: 530 Euros
4000 – 7999 km: 820 Euros
8000 – 19999 km: 1100 Euros

The distance will be calculated as follows:

This travel contribution is calculated taking into account the distance between the city where the home university is located and the UCA. To calculate that distance, there is an online application available at the following link: https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm
