Course Overview
The International Summer School “Eco-Tools-Coast: Advanced Skills on Coastal Environments” (ETC) is an advanced training program designed to equip PhD students with cutting-edge methodologies for studying coastal environments. Taking place in Cádiz, Spain, from July 7th to July 11th, 2025, this course will bring together an international network of faculty and students, fostering collaboration between experts from various universities in Europe and beyond.
The program will be coordinated by Dr. Irene Delgado-Fernández and Dr. Javier Benavente, with contributions from a team of specialists from leading institutions, including the University of Cádiz, NUI Galway, the University of Auckland, Technological University Dublin, the University of Algarve, and the University of Bretagne Occidentale.
Course Structure and Objectives
This intensive, five-day program, followed by a final day dedicated to a field trip around the Cádiz province, is designed to:
- Provide advanced training in coastal research techniques, covering both theoretical and applied aspects.
- Explore emerging topics in the field, such as:
- Remote sensing for coastal monitoring.
- Drone data acquisition and analysis (both aerial and underwater).
- Numerical modeling to simulate coastal processes.
