United Nations: Further Information

Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA): Agency under the General Secretariat that is responsible for the coordination of emergency responses. It performs this function through the Inter-Agency Standing Committee, whose members include the entities of the United Nations system when providing emergency aid.

Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF)   :Humanitarian fund established by the General Assembly in 2006 to enable humanitarian assistance quickly and effectively to those affected by natural disasters and armed conflict. The fund is replenished annually through contributions from governments and the private sector, and constitutes a pool of reserve funds to support humanitarian action

 World Health Organization (WHO) website   :Their goal is to build a better and healthier future for people around the world. Through the WHO’s offices in more than 150 countries, the entity works so that each human being enjoys the best possible state of health. WHO cooperates with governments and other partners in the implementation of the countries’ national health strategies and plans, as well as in fulfilling the collective commitments assumed by the governing bodies of WHO.

World Health Organization (WHO) media resources  :The WHO press office collects information on the press conferences that have been held, the news generated, and the videos or live messages issued, which explain the evolution of the pandemic and the actions carried out by the organization.

UN News on the Evolution of the Pandemic  : This page brings together information and guidance from the World Health Organization and the United Nations on the current outbreak of the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV). The World Health Organization works closely with world experts, governments and other partners to rapidly expand scientific knowledge about this new virus, track its spread and virulence, and advise countries and individuals on measures to protect health and prevent its spread.
